Samaikyandhra Joint Action Committee secretary and former PCC secretary Kolanukonda Sivaji has given a call to people in Krishna district to send back all people’s representatives of any party from Rachabanda programme scheduled to commence on Monday.

At a press conference here on Sunday, Mr. Sivaji said all MPs and MLAs from ruling Congress and opposition Telugu Desam Party had betrayed the people of Seemandhra by not voicing their concern over the proposed division of Andhra Pradesh.

Rachabanda programme was only a diversionary tactic of the Congress, he alleged.

“If MLAs and MPs or Ministers attend the programme, ask them to first make a resolution to keep the State united,” he appealed to the people.

At a time when the Congress leaders in the Telangana region were celebrating the creation of a new State and thanking Sonia Gandhi and other Congress leaders and propose to use Rachabanda programme for that, in Andhra and Rayalaseema regions it was being used only to divert the attention of people from real problems arising out of the division of the State.

He gave a call to the people to strengthen the hands of Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy so that the State could be kept united.
