The environs turned livelier and joyous at the Amali English Medium High School, a missionary school run by Joseph Mary Jesuits at Muthyalampadu, with many former students visiting the premises to take up several activities for the benefit of present students and the poor families in the neighbouring area.
The children presently studying at the school had a memorable time when they interacted with the alumni, who recalled the days when they studied at the school. They also talked about the teachers and sports activities that used to be held in those times.
About 500 out of the total 1,400 students of the school were administered homoeo medicine for prevention of seasonal diseases at the medical camp held on the occasion. School correspondent Sr. Tresea and principal Mary Meznillo were all praise for their old students, who came forward and made a gesture towards helping the students and the poor families in the true spirit of the school motto.
The old students association had 200 members with advocate Ch. Raghava Rao, Y. Rajesh, Vasudeva Kumar and others taking active part in conducting the activities. In the presence of the school correspondent and he principal, they distributed rice packets to many poor families. Clothes were also handed over to the needy persons.
Homoeo physician A.J. Prakash, who conducted the health camp, administered medicine to the children for prevention of fevers that would come with the rainy season. School coordinators Arja Venkateswara Rao and A.N.V. Lalitha coordinated the events during the day.
The former students promised to revisit the school with more programmes in the years to come. The sisters said service attitude should be developed at an early stage in life and all students should cultivate this as part of their personality development.
