: APCC president N. Raghuveera Reddy said there was no need for a three-member committee to oversee and study the functioning of the KRMB. In a statement here on Friday, Mr. Raghuveera Reddy said though two years have passed since bifurcation of A.P., the TDP government has not been able to get the Centre to implement the AP Reorganisation Act.

If the Act was implemented there would have been absolutely no need for the committee to study and oversee the functioning of the KRMB, he said. If the Centre was going to wait till November for the problem to get resolved, farmers of Andhra Pradesh would be forced to forgo one crop. Water Resources Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao should therefore take initiative and make sure the that the Centre implemented the Reorganisation Act, Mr. Raghuveera Reddy said.
