The Communist Party of India (CPI) has squarely blamed the Seemandhra leaders and political parties for piquant situation faced by the people in the region. The CPI organised a meeting on ‘Comprehensive development of the residual State of Andhra Pradesh’ here on Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering, CPI State secretary K. Narayana said that all political parties were indulging in double speak fearing wrath of public in Seemandhra. Despite knowing the fact that Telangana State was imminent, the leaders and two major bourgeois parties played their best to hoodwink the people. They lied to the people for their vested interests. The Telangana State was a popular acceptance with Congress and TDP forging alliance with the TRS in 2004 and 2009 elections respectively. Neither of them has right to speak on Telangana State, he said.
As the Telangana State was on the horizon, the Seemandhra leaders and political parties should mount pressure on the Central government to protect the rights of people of the region. The BJP claims to have supported the AP Reorganisation Bill based on ‘Spirit of Speech of Prime Minister’. But, experts opine that it was not binding on the Bill. Unless legal sanctity was accorded to it, the interests of Seemandhra cannot be protected, he felt.
The Centre should have initiated the division process two years ago. The Centre, neither, revealed its plans lucidly for Coastal and Rayalaseema regions. It was necessary to fight for rights of Seemandhra, he said, adding, the CPI would organise yatras in all 13 districts.
CPI Seemandhra districts secretaries -- G. Eswaraiah, Ramanaidu, K. Ramanjaneyulu, B. Jagadish, C. Sundarlal, G.V. Satyanarayana Murthy, M. Satyanarayana, Pabhakar, K. Aruna, G. Obulesu, T.
