The family dispute between Kaikalur MLA J. Venkata Ramana and his wife Sunitha has once again come into public with the latter lodging a complaint in Penamaluru police station on Thursday apprehending a threat to her life from the MLA.
Ms. Sunitha alleged that her husband had recently acquired a revolver with which he threatened to kill her and also accused him of forcing her to sign on divorce papers late last year.
The MLA was also accused of frequently quarrelling and beating her, according to Penamaluru Circle Inspector.
Mr. Sunitha was married to Mr. Venkata Ramana in 1997 and their relation has since been strained as they had been constantly fighting over several domestic issues. From then they are staying separately (Ms. Sunitha is reportedly residing at Penamaluru).
Cases were booked against the MLA by his wife twice earlier. In the latest instance, cases were booked on the charges of domestic violence, attempt to murder and threatening with dire consequences.
The MLA countered these charges by saying that his wife was averse to continue the matrimonial relation with him.
