Vijayawada Central MLA and Telugu Desam Party spokesperson Bonda Umamaheswara Rao here on Wednesday said Leader of the Opposition Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy had suffered more than the common man due to demonetisation.

Addressing a press conference, Mr. Rao said Mr. Jagan who came out only 15 days after the announcement of demonetisation was in shock all these days and was struggling to convert his thousands of crores stashed currency into white money.

He called upon Mr. Jagan to give away his cash to the poor instead of wasting it. “The poor will somehow exchange the notes and get the benefit,” he said.

He also challenged Mr. Jagan for a debate over the Divis Laboratories issue in East Godavari.

He said the then Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy gave land to APIIC in 2007 and compensated the farmers with Rs. 3 lakh per acre, for those who did not get the compensation the TD government gave Rs. 5 lakh per acre recently.
