The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (Iskcon) Vijayawada unit will be organising the Jagannath Rath Yatra on Thursday from 3 p.m. onwards. In Puri, the Jagannath Rath Yatra is organised on July 18.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Iskcon Vijayawada Director (Operations) Badra Govinda Das said the procession would begin from Iskcon temple, Rajagopalachary Street and culminate at the temple after passing through Buckinghampeta, Apsara Theatre, Lenin Centre, Besant Road. During the procession, Vedic scriptures would be distributed and ‘prasadam’ would be served free of cost to all those who take part in the yatra. The procession also features ‘kirtans’, dancing ‘darshan’ and discourse as well. The rath yatra is organised on Thursday to facilitate people from the city in participating in the Puri rath yatra, he said.
