A woman, in a fit of rage allegedly due to the philandering ways of her husband, killed her two children, in a shocking incident reported in Guntur on Wednesday.
The accused, Nagala Sailaja, was a resident of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar. She got married to Suresh, who was working as a gas delivery boy. The couple had two boys, Vijay (4) and Ajay (3). Trouble started when Suresh left home and started living with another woman in Ongole.
On Thursday, Sailaja reportedly called up her husband, pleading with him to return. But Suresh allegedly refused and threatened his wife of dire consequences if she called him again.
Deeply hurt, the woman allegedly decided to end her life. She first consumed rat poison and then allegedly strangled her two children with a piece of cloth. Superintendent of Police, Guntur Urban, Ake Ravikrishna who visited the GGH and recorded the statement of the accused, said that a case under section 302 was being filed against the woman. A case was also being filed against her husband, he added.
