Sri Venkateswara Devasthanam located in Labbipet will be celebrating the Sri Narasimha Jayanthi and the 602nd birth anniversary of Saint Tallapakka Annamacharya from May 26, according to Sri Annamacharya Sankeertana Gana Prachara Bhakthi Brundam president M.V.V.S. Prasad.
Speaking to mediapersons on Tuesday, Mr. Prasad said that Garimella Balakrishna Prasad of Tirupati will be singing Sri Narasimha Sankeertanas on Wednesday at 6.30 p.m. as part of the Sri Narasimha Jayanthi celebrations. “He will also render Annamayya keertanas on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. marking the birth anniversary of Annamayya,” he said. “Along with Mr. Prasad, several artistes such as K. Lakshmi Narasimha, Pemmaraju Surya Rao, Malladi Surya Babu, Vishnubhotla Sisters – Krishnaveni and Saraswathi, G. Anil Kumar, N.C. Sridevi, R. Pullemma, G. Radha and Popuri Gowri Shankar will perform during the eight-day celebrations,” he added.
Mr. Prasad said that on June 2 evening, artistes from in and around Vijayawada would render in a group the keertanas of Saint Annamayya for two hours.
