The figures quoted by Union Minister Arun Jaitley in the Rajya Sabha should be ratified by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, said Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president N Raghuveera Reddy.
The response of the Central government on the demand for Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh was tantamount to treachery, he said.
The keen interest the TDP showed on the subject of “delimitation” was lacking when it came to Special Category Status. It showed great interest in delimitation because it was crucial for the party which was promoting defections on a large scale. The people of Andhra Pradesh were intelligent enough to observe these nuances, he said. The TDP and BJP members should vote in favour of K V P Ramachandra Rao’s Private Member Bill on August 5 and amend the Re-Organisation Act, he added.
