CCS police arrest 35 thieves of three States

The Central Crime Station (CCS) police arrested 35 thieves, including 30 women of three gangs from three States, who committed thefts during Krishna Pushkarams.

They recovered booty worth about Rs. 5.25 lakh from them.

Disclosing this to the newsmen here on Wednesday, Joint Commissioner of Police P. Hari Kumar said the police apprehended 35 thieves of Chennai, West Bengal and Odisha, while they were moving suspiciously at different places in the city.

‘All previous offenders’

All of them were repeat offenders and used to commit thefts during festivals, jataras and utsavams, Mr. Hari Kumar added.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (CCS) G. Ramakoteswara Rao Assistant Commissioners of Police Pothuraju and Varma were present.
