Joint Collector Gaurav Uppal has directed the staff concerned to carry out their duties efficiently in the social, economic and caste enumeration 2011 programme which will begin in different parts of the district on October 18.

The mandal development officers, master trainers and enumerators are being involved in the enumeration exercise. It will continue for 10 days in 12 mandals in the first phase. Three mandals have been selected from each revenue division in the district.

Addressing a meeting organised for the staff involved in the enumeration held at the Sub-Collector's office here on Thursday, Mr. Uppal said that the enumeration was being taken up in all necessary municipal areas also and all arrangements had already been made for it. The required stationery material was sent to the respective offices in the mandals. Each enumeration team would have six members and one supervisor would head the team.

Mr. Uppal asked the enumerators to visit all the expected households and take down the data of the family members as per the present enumeration programme. They should see that the data collected be entered into the computer systems with the help of the staff there on the same day itself without causing delay. There would be a data entry operator accompanying each team of enumerators and the operator be given a special computer to enter the data at the field level.

Mr. Uppal instructed MDOs to arrange for generators on hire so that there would not be any hurdle to the data entry operations during the course of enumeration exercise because of power cuts.

About 1,200 enumerators were taken through various agencies for the purpose of enumeration and training programmes were conducted for them already. The supervisors, enumerators and data entry operators should work with coordination to make the entire programme a success, he added.
