‘Long overdue’

Endowments Commissioner Y.V. Anuradha issued a circular transferring the employees of eight RJC cadre and three Deputy Commissioner cadr. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Endowments Minister P. Manikyala Rao and others on June 17. The commissioner, in the circular, said that the employees of these temples had never been transferred during the last several years.

As a result, there has been criticism from various quarters in society about declining standards of service in the temples. As a result, the temple administration has become a challenge to the executive officers.

Protection of public interest is paramount. Therefore it was been decided to undertake transfers of long-standing and certain select staff in all the eight major temples and also deputy commissioner institutions in the State, she said.
