Residents of the city can take their pick from a variety of attractive brass lamps with a discount of 10 per cent, in a first-of-its-kind exhibition at Poompuhar showroom.
The 10-day event was inaugurated by Government Chief Whip R. Manoharan at the showroom at Singarathope on Monday.
The ‘brass lamps exhibition’ is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. till June 20, excluding Sundays.
The lamps on display range from one to six feet and are priced between Rs. 50 and Rs. 75,000.
The attraction of the expo is the unique six feet annam lamp, which is shaped like a swan on top.
It is the highest priced item at the showroom. Beautifully-crafted brass lamps such as mangala deepam, a lamp that is available only at Poompuhar, and three feet Ganesh asthothra branch lamp are also on display.
Other lamps include three feet and five feet Lakshmi and Ganesh lamps, prabai lamps, annam hanging lamp, table lamp, Kerala Malabar and Vazhapu lamp, balaji branch lamp, panchalinga deepam, agals, kubera deepam, astalakshmi, and kamatchi lamps. The total stock value of the lamps on display exceeds over Rs. 75 lakh.
Poompuhar expects sales of Rs. 5 lakh from this exhibition.
This year, Poompuhar has plans to organise over 300 exhibitions of different themes across the country and abroad.
