Teachers of Tamil Nadu Part-time Teachers’ Federation on Monday took out a rally here demanding regularisation of service.

K. Sesuraja, State organiser of the federation, led the rally. A large number of part-time teachers belonging to different parts of the district participated in it.

R. Suresh, district president, and R. Manohar, secretary, were among those participated. The rally that began at St. John Vestry Anglo-Indian School went along the important roads and culminated at the Collector’s office.

They said that 16,549 teachers were appointed in March 2012 with the consolidated payment of Rs. 5,000 a month. They had completed more than three years of service. Hence, the Government should come forward to make all of them permanent with immediate effect.
