A 27-year-old man who allegedly had an illegal affair with a married woman was murdered by a gang in his house at Samayapuram in the late hours on Tuesday.
Five persons, including a woman, were arrested by the Samayapuram police on the charge of killing M. Pandian.
The victim’s brother M. Suresh (40) who was also attacked by the gang is undergoing treatment at the Mahatma Gandhi Government Hospital here.
Police sources said Pandian was said to be in love with Sathya who was married to Sabari. The police said Sabari was irked by the illegal affair between Pandian and Sathya which eventually resulted in the murder. A search is on for Sabari and two others.
