The first session of the popular Summer Music camp, curated by Rhapsody and conducted in partnership with The Hindu Young World concluded on Saturday.
The camp uses music as a means to impart ideas and concepts in mathematics, science, creative expression, and environmental awareness.
Children in the age groups (4-6) made paper craft that went with the song theme for the day, and got to showcase these in addition to their songs and learning to parents on the last day.
Children in the older groups (7 and above) kept a journal during the camp days that were read out to the parents during certification. “Ideas like nuclear fusion, and isomers in a music lesson – I never thought all this was possible”, said Rohan, a member of the seniors group of the camp held at Kangaroo Kids, Tiruchi. The camp was curated by pianist Anil Srinivasan and run by musician Dr. Sudha Raja and their team of trainers from Rhapsody-Education Through Music.
The second batch of the camp will be held from Monday. Rhapsody (90030 15205 or 044 42316161) may be contacted for information.
