Bicycle rally on environment awareness flagged off in Tiruchrapalli

A bicycle rally to promote awareness about environment by school children was flagged off at Kailasapuram township by A. V. Krishnan, Executive Director, BHEL, here on Friday.

More than 200 persons took part in the rally including students from RSK Higher Secondary School, Boiler Plant Boys Higher Secondary School, Boiler Plant Girls Higher Secondary School, BHEL Matriculation Higher Secondary School, NCC cadets and Safety Stewards from BHEL.

The participants went around various sectors of the township carrying posters and placards containing slogans on environmental awareness. R. Lakshmi, District Environmental Engineer, Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, administered environment pledge.
