Two important events will be held at Sri Dasavathara Sannidhi premises of the Ahobila Mutt in Srirangam on June 2 and June 6, both signifying the religious honour to Sri Narayana Yatheendra Mahadesikan, the 45th Azhagiyasingar of the Mutt.

First, a majestic brindavan dedicated to the 45th jeer will be consecrated on June 2. The ‘brindavan’ has an idol of the jeer.

The idol, about three feet in height, is in a seated posture. The ‘brindavan’, donated by devotees is located on the site where the holy remains of the jeer was placed a year ago after he attained ‘siddhi’ on May 19.

To mark the consecration of the brindavan, a special homam will be performed by vedic pandits led by Veeraraghachar Swamy from Tiruvaheendrapuram on June 2.

At the close quarters are a couple of brindavans dedicated to Sri Lakshmi Nrisimha Satakopa Yatindra Mahadesikan, the 41st and Sri Vedanta Desika Yateendra Mahadesikan the 44th jeer, who was instrumental for construction of the ‘rajagopuram’ for the Srirangam temple.

The brindavan has been constructed through the special efforts by Sri Ranganatha Yatheendra Mahadesikan the 46-th jeer of the mutt.

A team of ‘sthapathis’ led by Ramakrishnan designed and constructed the ‘vimana’ and also the idol in seven months, says S. Rajagopalan, Chief Executive Officer of the Mutt.

The granite stones were brought from Wallajapet and Tuticorin, Mr. Rajagopalan said.

Anniversary on June 6

Marking the first ‘siddhi’ anniversary, the first ‘varshika aradhana mahothsavam’ will be performed to the 45th Azhagiyasingar on June 6.

As part of the celebrations, a series of programmes including Vedaparayanam and recital of verses from holy texts and epics will be held at Dasavathara Sannidhi from May 31 to June 6.
