Training programme on road safety

A one-day training programme on Road Safety and Youth Leadership was organised by the National Transportation Planning and Research Centre (Natpac) for the volunteers of the city-based Helping Hands Organization (H2O) here on Saturday.

The programme aimed at making the participants understand the need for practising road safety and to make them realise what they can do to reduce road accidents.

Reducing accidents

Addressing the participants, Natpac director B.G. Sreedevi called for concerted efforts by the youth to bring down the number of road fatality.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, G. Sivavikram stressed the need for developing a civic sense among the road users.

T.V. Satheesh, consultant, and B. Subin, scientist, Natpac; and Jolly Johnson, Chief Executive Director, H2O spoke at the training programme.
