The Railways have increased the sectional speed in the Poonkunnam- Guruvayur section from the existing 50 km per hour to 90 km per hour.

The departure of five passenger trains running in the section has been revised and these trains will have a late start by five minutes.
However, there will be no change in the timings of these five passenger trains at other stations, the Railways said.
The train number and revised departure time is as follows: Train 56365 Guruvayur-Punalur Passenger-6 a.m., Train 56371 Guruvayur-Ernakulam Passenger- 6.45 a.m., Train 56375 Guruvayur-Ernakulam Passenger-12.55 p.m..; Train 56373, Guruvayur-Thrissur Passenger- 9.05 a.m.; Train 56403 Guruvayur-Thrissur Passenger-5.10 p.m.
