The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) will hold its promised prayer meeting before the statue of R. Sankar near Palayam in the city on Tuesday in protest against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan team’s attempts to hijack the glorious legacy of Sankar. The prayer meeting will begin at 2.30 p.m. almost coinciding with time of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s programme in Kollam.

KPCC president V.M. Sudheeran, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, and Home Minster Ramesh Chennithala will attend the programme. The publication of a book “R. Sankar, the creator of an era” will also be held at the same venue.
