Kerala wins youth fete

: The Kerala contingent emerged toppers in the National Youth Festival that concluded in Guwahati on January 12 by winning the first and second prizes in more than half the items it competed in.

The play Duvidh enacted by the team from Kasaragod bagged the first prize.

Mridangam

Vineeth, also from Kasaragod, won the first prize in the Mridangam competition. The first prize in Kuchipudi went to Anaswara of Kannur. In the Veena competition, Arya of Kollam emerged the topper, a press note issued here said.

It was the winning teams at the Keralolsavam — organised by the Kerala State Youth Welfare Board — that competed at the national festival. The 79-strong contingent from the State would return on January 18, the statement said.
