Humanoid robot workshop begins today

Students of the Mechanical Engineering Department of Government Engineering College, Barton Hill here, are organising a two-day Humanoid Robot workshop from Saturday.

Titled BIPED BOTIX, the workshop aims to build robots that are able to mimic the movement of human limbs, the students said. A venture of Full Throttle Workshop Wing, an initiative of the students of GEC Barton Hill and Technophilia, the workshop would also give students a chance to repreent India at an international level. The top teams from the workshop would compete with the nation’s best at IIT Mumbai in the National Robotic Championships, from where the best teams would fly to the U.S. to represent India in the Robogames, also known as Robo-Olympics. , the biggest robotic competition in the world.
