The Anganwadi Workers and Helpers’ Welfare Fund Board, under the Department of Social Justice, has sanctioned gratuity for retired anganwadi workers and helpers.

The decision would benefit helpers and workers who had retired in July 2014.

The helpers, numbering 184, would get Rs.10,000 and workers, numbering 106, would get Rs.15,000 as gratuity.

This would be in addition to pension and other benefits that they are eligible for, according to a release issued by the board here on Wednesday. — Special Correspondent
