GM reviews railway works in division 43, 33

General Manager, Southern Railway, Vashishta Johri on Wednesday reviewed ongoing rail projects and schemes being executed in Thiruvananthapuram railway division.

At a meeting in Divisional Railway Office ,Thycaud, Mr. Johri was briefed about the ongoing projects and schemes in the division by the heads of various wings and the Divisional Railway Manager, Prakash Bhutani.

Mr. Johri lauded the steps taken by the commercial wing of the division to increase the non-fare revenue by offering more passenger amenities to the commuters.

Visits railway station

The General Manager also visited Thiruvananthapuram Central railway station and inspected various passenger amenities created under various schemes. Accompanied by the DRM and senior officials, Mr. Johri had detailed inspection of waiting rooms, dormitories, paid waiting room managed by Kudumbasree and the platforms.

The General Manager also commissioned the second floor of the Railway Rest House behind the Railway Kalyanamandapam at Thampanoor. With these, the railways had added five more rooms in the three-storeyed building that houses the Rest House.
