Facilities to test milk during Onam

The Dairy Development Department, in association with the Food Safety Department, will make arrangements for testing the quality of milk brought to the State during the Onam season from dairies located outside the State.

The Director of Dairy Development said milk-testing facility would be put in place at major check-posts on inter-State borders. He urged consumers to buy only those brands of milk that had MMPR registration.

Consumers could get in touch with the quality information centres attached to the district offices of the Dairy Development Department. Complaints could also be sent to the Joint Food Safety Commissioner (Administrative and Legal), Food Safety Commissioner's Office, Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram.
