Thodupuzha native chosen best dairy farmer

Minister for Animal Husbandry K. Raju announced on Friday the State-level and district-level awards instituted by the Animal Husbandry Department.

The award for the best dairy farmer in the State has been won by Aloshy Joseph of Thodupuzha.

The award for the best dairy farm on a commercial basis has been won by Ksheerasree Dairy, run by T.V. Anilkumar of Ambalappuzha.

K.G. Sarasamma of Nooranad has been given the award for the best integrated farming.

All three awards carry a cash prize of ₹1 lakh, a plaque and citation.

Best Poultry farmer

The best poultry farmer award went to Wilson Mathew of Thiruvambady, Kozhikode.

The best woman entrepreneur award was won by to Ashley John of Thalayolapparambu, Kottayam, and the best young farmer award goes to Sojan George of Mundakkayam, Kottayam.

These awards carry a cash prize of ₹50,000, a plaque and citation.

The award for the best animal welfare activity, carrying a cash prize of ₹30,000, citation and a plaque, was won by Johny V John of Thripunithura.

The awards in all categories are also being given at the district level.

CM to present awards

The awards will be distributed by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at a function to be held in the capital on August 22.
