The 33rd annual convocation of Mangalore University will be held on June 17 at 11 a.m. Governor Vajubhai Vala and Minister for Higher Education R.V. Deshpande will participate. Goverdhan Mehta, former director, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, will deliver the convocation address.

Academic council meeting

The academic council of Mangalore University will hold its meeting on June 18 at 11 a.m. Vice-Chancellor K. Byrappa will preside over the meeting.

Konkani scholarship

Vishwa Konkani Kendra, Shakthi Nagar, has invited applications for scholarship for first year MBBS and engineering students speaking Konkani for 2015. Applicants should have obtained 70 per cent above marks in core subjects in SSLC and PU. They should have obtained ranks within 20,000 in the CET or other entrance tests. Last date to apply is July 10.

Manav Seva Award

Applications have been invited for Rajiv Gandhi Manav Seva Award presented by the Union government.

Those who have served more than 10 years in the field of welfare and protection of children can apply. Call 0824 2451254, for details.

Health camps

The Department of Health and Family Welfare and private medical colleges have organised health check-up camps for endosulfan victims.

The camp will be at Kaniyur, Koila, Bellare and Moodbidri on June 16, at Kokkada and Vitla on June 17, at Panaje on June 20.
