Vehicular traffic will be diverted in some places here on account of the Paryaya procession on January 18.
According to a press release issued here, the following changes will be in force in the city from 4 p.m. on Tuesday to 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
All vehicles coming from Mangalore and Ambalpady side should use the Swagata Gopura-National Highway 66-Karavali Junction-Bannanje Road to enter the city. Vehicles moving from Udupi to Mangalore and Kundapur should use Bannanje-Karavali Junction Road.
Ban
Besides a ban on parking of vehicles, movement of vehicles will be banned at Kinnimulki, Jodu Katte, Lions Circle, Court Road, Diana Junction, Mitra Junction, and Tenkapete.
Parking
People attending the Paryaya festival should park their vehicles at Christian High School grounds, Christian PU College grounds, Board High School grounds, PPC grounds, Beedinagudde grounds, Royal Garden grounds, St. Cecily School grounds, Vivekananda School grounds, Ajjarkad grounds, and by the sides of Bhujanga Park Road, Kittur Rani Chennamma Road, and Kasturba Road.
Vehicles parked elsewhere would attract penal action, the release added.
