Founder of Sulabh Sanitation and Social Reform Movement Bindeshwar Pathak said here on Friday that imparting skill-based education and training is crucial to end unemployment problem in the country.
Speaking to media on the sidelines a seminar which he inaugurated at St. Aloysius College he said that skill-based education could be anything from papad making to beauty care. To a question he said that best way to dispose of municipal solid waste is through landfill sites and by converting waste into manure. He said municipal corporations could hand over the task of converting waste into manure to NGOs. Earlier addressing a gathering, after inaugurating a two-day conference on ‘social sciences and social development’, he said social development was not complete unless the last deprived person of the society came to the mainstream. Sociology taught how to build rapport with communities. Mangalore Sociology Association has organised the conference.
