‘Sangolli Rayanna Brigade to continue its activities’

The Sangolli Rayanna Brigade will continue its activities of strengthening its organisation in all 224 Assembly constituencies in the State. Addressing presspersons here on Sunday, Doddayya Anekal, working president of the State unit of Sangolli Rayanna Brigade, said that the brigade was a social organisation committed to the welfare of Dalits and backward communities. It was an apolitical organisation, he added.

The organisational network of the brigade was being strengthened in all the 224 Assembly constituencies and the brigade had nothing to do with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he said.

“K.S. Eshwarappa, BJP leader, and we think alike. He does not hold any position in the brigade. He only guides when we approach him. Our brigade has no connection with politics,” he said.

The organisation of the brigade was weak in Mysuru, Mandya, and Kodagu and efforts will be made to strengthen it, he said.

To a question, he said that it was not right on the part of senior BJP leader P. Muralidhar Rao to warn Mr. Eshwarappa on the matters concerning the brigade. “After all, Mr. Rao himself is attached to many organisations in his home State,” he said.

Pradeep M., and Anand Shet, general secretaries of State unit of the brigade, were present.
