New MESCOM branch opened

The Mangalore Electricity Supply Company has opened a new branch office at Parkala near Udupi and it is functioning from No. 5-125, Suprabhata House, Market Road, Parkala, from June 2 with telephone number 0820 2544711. An official release here said the branch office caters to customers in Parkala village, Nagarabettu, villages under Athradi Gram Panchayat and villages under 80 Badagabettu Gram Panchayat.

The Horticulture College, Kolar, has organised a one-month skill development programme in horticulture for the kins of farmers in August. Applications from eligible candidates from Dakshina Kannada have been invited for the programme. Application forms are available with the senior assistant horticulture director, Bendoor Cross, Mangaluru and filled in forms have to be returned before July 23. Free training

The Department of Minorities Welfare is offering free training to candidates from minority communities in electronic equipment servicing and air-conditioning/ refrigeration servicing. Unemployed youth having passed SSLC, aged between 18 and 40, with annual family income less than Rs. 1 lakh may apply. Details and application forms may be had from the office of the district minorities welfare officer, second floor, Corporation Commercial Complex, Lalbagh, Mangaluru. Last date to submit the filled application forms is July 25.
