Henzil Fernandes, a student of Poornaprajna Pre-University College, from Udupi, who got 12th rank in engineering stream of CET results, announced on Tuesday, said he was delighted with his performance.

Son of Edwin Fernandes, an employee in private sector in Kuwait and Hilda Fernandes, homemaker, Henzil said he used to study for three to four hours daily. He took coaching for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Computer Science subjects, CET and JEE (Main). “I did not expect 12th rank in CET. I thought that I would be in the 20s and 30s. This is really good”, he said.

Henzil said he had worked really hard. He attributed his success to his parents and to his teachers both at the college and the coaching centre. He would like to do B.Tech in Computer Science and was looking forward to writing his JEE (Main) exams. “I would prefer to get a seat at NIT-K.”

In his second PUC examination, Henzil got 99 marks in Physics, 100 in Chemistry, 98 in Mathematics and 100 in Computer Science.
