A bus driver rammed into a paint shop after losing control of the vehicle when he was suddenly asked to stop the bus to allow Forest Minister B. Ramanath Rai’s car to pass in Honnakatte near Surathakal on Thursday.

According to eyewitnesses, the traffic constable at the Honnakatte junction raised his hand to stop all vehicles coming towards Mangaluru city in order to give way to Mr. Rai’s vehicle. The bus driver could not control the vehicle and swerved to the right and hit a two wheeler and a car parked by the roadside and then hit the roadside paint shop.

Around five passengers suffered minor injury, the police said.
