May 26, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - MANAMADURAI:

Three special teams have been formed to secure the arrest of three people, including prime accused Nagamuthu, who had gone absconding after hacking three Dalits here on Tuesday following a clash between two communities over flag hoisting in a temple at Kilankattur near here.

Asserting that the situation was under control in the village, Superintendent of Police Ziaul Haque said that three special teams, headed by three Inspectors of Police and under the overall supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police Purushothman, have been formed to nab the accused.

The SP said that the hamlet, with a mixed population of different communities, was located in the midst of thick ‘karuva kaadu’ and the accused might have disappeared into the woods.

The special teams had launched a combing operation inside the ‘karuva kaadu.’
