The Madras High Court Bench here on Tuesday dismissed two habeas corpus petitions filed in the Bench, accusing Tallakulam police in the city of keeping in illegal custody the wives of two Central Excise employees who absconded after assaulting Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials during a trap operation on Friday.

Justices A. Selvam and B. Gokuldas closed the petitions after it was represented that the women were not in any kind of illegal custody.
