DYFI activists on Tuesday took out a march and laid siege to the office of the Maharaja’s College Principal in protest against the dumping of mud near the synthetic track of the college ground.
The protesters accused irresponsibility on the part of college authorities for the unacceptable development. DYFI district block secretary Nishad Babu, who led the march, asked Principal Latha Raj to take immediate action to rectify the situation.
The Principal said an emergency meeting in this connection would be held with the District Collector on Wednesday.
Police stopped the DYFI activists who marched to the Principal’s office.
Representatives of protesters secured a written assurance from the Principal to remove the dumped mud from the ground and about the meeting with the Collector.
