The Panangad Police on Thursday arrested the driver of a private Volvo bus on charge of molesting a South African woman. Thirumoorthy, 33, of Erode, is accused of molesting the 31-year-old woman when the bus, on its way from Bangalore to Kochi, had a stopover at Chinnar in Tamil Nadu. While the woman and her sister informed fellow passengers of the incident, no one took the initiative to lodge a complaint with a nearby police station. The sisters filed a complaint when the bus reached Vytilla on Thursday.
Drug peddling
Shobin Raj, 31, of Cheranalloor, was arrested on charge of drug peddling here on Thursday. He is accused of selling ampoules and ganja in Kumbalam and Panangad areas.
