Kerala Catholic Bishops’ Council, the apex body of the Church in Kerala, will hold its two-day winter session here at Pastoral Orientation Centre (POC) from Wednesday. Prior to the Bishops’ meet, Cardinal Alencherry, Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Church, will inaugurate the year of the religious observances at the POC on Tuesday at 9.30 a.m.
The theme of the meet is ‘Life of the religious and the mission of the Church, said a press release here. Cardinal Baselios Mar Cleemis, President of KCBC, will preside at the inaugural.
Religious and lay leaders will participate in the discussions during the day. Around 400 delegates, including lay leaders and heads of religious orders, will participate.
The KCBC session will discuss a number of topics, including the problems facing the rubber famers and Adivasis in the State, the press release added.
