: Cochin University of Science and Technology authorities have assured female B. Tech students that a 100-bed women’s hostel would be ready by December.
Varsity Registrar Dr. S. David Peter said this at a meeting to discuss facilities provided at hostels here. He promised to add 25 beds in the existing hostels and begin construction of three new classrooms at the School of Legal Studies. He also said that first year B.Tech students would be able to check out books from the University library, a facility currently extended only to final year students. The facility will be made available as soon as the second stage of construction is over in the library building.
A decision to provide marine engineering students a chance to appear for supplementary examinations will be taken by the Director General of Shipping.
