Cong. to launch stir against panel report

The Congress will soon launch an agitation in all the coastal States of the country to protest against the implementation of Dr. B. Meenakumari Commission report on revamping fisheries sector.

As part of it, T.N. Prathapan, MLA, president, State Malsyathozhilali Congress, will lead a march from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram from February 15. Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala will inaugurate the march. Senior party leaders, including A.K. Antony, Jayaram Ramesh, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and KPCC president V.M. Sudheeran, will participate. The march will conclude in Thiruvananthapuram on February 28.

Speaking on the occasion, K.V. Thomas, MP, said the Congress would be organising similar protests in all the States having coastlines, including Gujarat.
