Award for CMFRI

The Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Kochi, has won the Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Puraskar for the year 2014-15. A. Gopalakrishnan, director of the institute, received the award from President Pranab Mukherjee at a function held at New Delhi on Monday. The institute was chosen for the successful implementation of the official language policy of the Central government.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju were also present. This is fourth time that the CMFRI has won the award, says a communication from the institute.
