Worker killed in freak accident at factory

A 25-year-old factory worker was killed after he got trapped in a running machine at Katedan industrial unit on Wednesday morning. According to the police, the victim identified as Pushpak Samal, a native of Orissa was working in Shivaji Polymers company as a machine operator.

He started work on Wednesday morning and in a freak accident ended up with his head getting entangled into the machine that he was operating, leading to severe injuries resulting in his death. The Mailardevpally police registered a case .

Woman robbed

A robber took away gold ornaments from a woman after barging into her house and beating her up at Jagadgirigutta in Kukatpally during daytime on Wednesday.

Fifty-year-old Annadurai Indira was on the first floor portion of her house when the stranger barged inside around 1 p.m. He sprinkled chilli powder on her face and started beating up her. The robber confined her inside the bathroom before snatching away the gold ornaments she wore, Kukatpally ACP M. Malla Reddy said.

Fatal fall for mason

Chinna Yavan, (40), a mason fell down from the fifth floor of a building at Kondapur in the early hours of Wednesday.

He was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital where he died while being treated. A case of death due to negligence was registered in Madhapur police station.

Body found

Police found the body of an unidentified man aged between 55 years and 60 years on the pavement at Kalikhabar on Wednesday morning. He was clad in a red coloured shirt and a lungi. Locals who noticed the body alerted the police. The Mirchowk police registered a case.

Man hit by train

A 35-year-old man was run over by a train late on Tuesday night near Yakutpura railway station. The victim was identified as B. Siva Swamy, a labourer residing in Gowlipura. He was walking along the tracks when a train hit him.

Woman dies of burns

Rekha, a 22-year-old housewife, who was being treated for accidental burns at Osmania General Hospital (OGH) succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday night.

Police said the woman, a resident of Brindavan Colony was preparing tea at her house in Brindavan Colony on January 31, when the accident happened. Saroornagar police are investigating.
