Curtains may have already come down on SpringSpree, the annual cultural event of National Institute of Technology (NIT) here, but the campus is still abuzz with discussions on a novel format of cricket that was demonstrated at the three-day event.
iB Cricket, a virtual reality (VR) game developed by ProYuga Advanced Technologies, transports an individual to a stadium-like ambience on wearing a specially-created headset and holding a custom-made electronic bat.
Students and visitors at the fest were amazed by the experience and are still raving about it.
ProYuga founder Vasanth said it was launched in the presence of President Ram Nath Kovind in Delhi last month where he tried his hand at the game.
Company CEO Trivikram says, “The landscape of e-sports and VR is experiencing a transformation. ProYuga is at the forefront of this change and ahead of the global market. iBC is considered the most immersive VR cricket experience according to people who have experienced it across the world. It aims to benefit over one lakh members through the opening 25,000 franchises across India.”
iB Cricket is gearing up for a worldwide release next month. “We have planned a simultaneous launch in 25 countries. We are highly positive about its potential and are sure that it will be played and enjoyed by a large audience globally,” Trivikram added.
ProYuga is being supported end-to-end by iB Hubs, a pan-India startup hub.
