The allocation of State-level employees between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is nearing completion with the Kamalnathan Committee finalising the long-pending process in the Health Department here on Saturday.

The committee met for the second consecutive day and finalised the tentative allocation of 6,300 employees, and it is expected to be notified soon for inviting objections and suggestions.

That leaves the Department of Medical Education with about 3,000 employees, where tentative allocation is to be done.

The Health Department allocation was delayed as several medical officers did not submit their education certificates to determine the local status.

After the Department of Personnel and Training took a serious view, the matter was expedited.

There were also demands that all those medical officers hailing from Andhra Pradesh should be allocated to Andhra, irrespective of their local candidate status.

The committee, however, finalised the tentative allocation based on the guidelines approved by the Centre.

The committee also finalised the tentative allocation of 450 Deputy Collectors after a discussion with Commissioners of Land Revenue of both the States.

The list will be circulated and notified.

The committee also discussed the allocation of DSPs. It did not finalise it.

Apart from the sub-committee, the State Advisory Committee also met. It was represented by GoI official and Chief Secretary of Telangana Rajiv Sharma. Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary S.P. Tucker could not attend the meeting. The Advisory Committee, which is closely monitoring the allocation, ratified the decisions taken by the Kamalnathan Committee.

Sources said that with the committee resolving long-pending issues mainly related to Directorate of Health, Registration and Stamps, tentative allocation of 4,700 Special Protection Force employees notified on Friday, the allocation of employees is expected to be completed well ahead of the August-end deadline.
