Senior TDP leaders work out a strategy for the all-party meeting on Telangana scheduled in New Delhi on December 28.

Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu has begun consultations with the senior colleagues of the party on working out a strategy for the all-party meeting on Telangana issue scheduled in New Delhi on December 28.

Party senior leader and Rajya Sabha member T. Devender Goud called on Mr. Naidu in Karimnagar district on Sunday where the latter is continuing his ‘Vasthunna Meekosam’ padayatra and discussed about an all-party meeting. The two were said to discuss the party line not only for the December 28 meeting, but also on the strategy for post-meeting situation both in Telangana and Seemandhra regions.

Mr. Naidu was learnt to have taken the opinion of Mr. Goud on the issue and the possible fallout of a decision in favour of Telangana and also that of maintaining status quo in the party stand by asking Congress to spell out its stand first. The MP told reporters after meeting Mr. Naidu that the party would take a decision with clarity and Mr. Naidu would decide on the representatives to represent the party, including their number later. “We need to protect our party both in Telangana and Seemandhra regions,” Mr. Goud said.

Seniors such as Kadiam Srihari and Errabelli Dayakar Rao were also closeted with Mr. Naidu two days ago and Kodela Sivaprasada Rao met him on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Mr. Naidu’s padayatra will enter Warangal, the hot-bed of Telangana movement, on the evening of December 28.
