South Central Railway would be focusing on punctuality of train operations, cleanliness at stations and trains, clean toilets, and zero-accident rate in the coming months, according to the new General Manager Ravindra Gupta.

Passenger facilities like lifts, escalators, waiting halls, cover over platforms, foot over bridges too would be completed on priority basis, he said, while addressing the principal heads of departments and the Divisional Railway Managers of all six divisions through video conferencing at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad on Wednesday.

Apart from safety of train operations, freight loading, earnings, punctuality of trains, progress of ongoing rail projects and expenditure incurred by various allocated heads would be given importance. Enhancing freight and passenger traffic for higher revenue generation is another area of focus, with ticket checking activities to be increased to ensure growth in ticket sales at booking windows. The GM also called for completion of projects as per the targets set, as funds were no constraint.
