Dr B R Ambedkar Park spread over 33 acres in the coal hub town of Manuguru has emerged as a major recreation spot offering pristine lung space to the denizens of the coal town.
The enchanting landscape of the park, which is dotted with special attractions like water fountains and sculptures of aquatic birds, offers the visitors a breathtaking experience to cherish.
The picturesque park was developed on a sprawling area at PV Colony in the heart of the coal town under the direct supervision of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Chief General Manager M. Mallesham and inaugurated by SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N. Sridhar in January this year.
The park has emerged as a favourite recreation centre for Singarenians as well as other denizens of the coal town within a short span.
Painstaking efforts
The painstaking efforts put in by a team of Singareni employees, including a few artists with an aesthetic bent of mind, in a span of over one-year earned laurels from the SCCL top officials as well as nature lovers alike.
The scenic beauty of the park has caught the attention of some of the film directors and short film makers, sources said.
Some documentary makers have evinced interest to shoot documentary films in the picturesque park, said an official of the SCCL’s Manuguru area. The written representations if any from the film makers would be forwarded to the company management for its perusal, he said, adding that the park was serving as a recreation centre for the Singarenians to unwind after a hectic work schedule.
