The Cyberabad police on Thursday nabbed four persons, including a real-estate businessman, for allegedly transporting ‘ganja’.

Ganja weighing 1,000 kg and worth over Rs. 60 lakh was recovered from the arrested persons — Gore Veeresh Goud (35), a real-estate businessman; Burra Venkatesh Goud (27) and Mohammed Jani (22), both drivers; and Boya Ravi (29), a cleaner. The four were natives of Manchal in Ranga Reddy district, according to police. The accused were transporting the contraband in a van from Odisha to Shirdi in Maharashtra after hiding it in a special cabin made in the vehicle. The gang members were transporting the contraband for the past two years and handing it over to their accomplice Ganesh in Shirdi. Ganesh, in turn, used to pay a commission of Rs.1 lakh per trip apart from Rs.50,000 towards transport expenditure. The gang was held at ORR in Pedda Amberpet.
